Jannat 2 Movie Review

The story:
The beautiful and sexy Esha Gupta plays 'Jhanvi Tomar', the doctor with whom Sadu Dilli falls madly in love with. For once, a pretty face and former beauty contest winner making her debut in Bollywood, has come up with a decent performance. The story of the film has the illegal arms dealing in Delhi forming the backdrop, but is focused on the lives of three people. ACP Pratap Raghuvanshi has lost his wife because of a shoot out and has vowed to crack down the business of weapon smuggling in the city. Sadu Dilli is a small time arms dealer who is threatened into becoming an informer for ACP Pratap. He meanwhile, meets and falls in love with Jhanvi Tomar and manages to win her over and marries her. Wanting to settle down with his woman, Sadu Dilli wants a crime-free, clean life, which is promised to him by Pratap. In return Sadu Dilli has to get for him Mangal Singh Tomar (Manish Chaudhary), who happens to be the father of Jhanvi Tomar.

Short of artificial affections Jannat 2 is easily the best film from the Bhatt camp since Gangster. Neither as gruesome as Murder 2 nor as bland as Blood Money, the movie brings forward some inspired writing and two watchable performances that lend a blend of the bitter and the biting to the proceedings.
